Street Art: My 6 Favourite Cities
I love street art. I think it’s just how it pops out of a usually grey cityscape.
Since we arrived in Melbourne I’ve had a lot of time on my hands between job hunting and exploring. Can you tell I’m unemployed if I didn’t tell you!?
I’ve been able to collate lots of travel photos, and I realised the majority of my favourite photos are street art. It seemed only right that I collated a list of my favourite street art cities. I’ve been known to base a trip around this alone…
Melbourne
No surprise here, it’s easily one of the most colourful and artistic cities you’ll have to chance to visit. What I love is there’s genuinely something around every corner, especially in St Kilda, and Chapel Road.
London
London needs a pop of colour right? When I first moved to London, I loved exploring Shoreditch in particular. London can take itself a little seriously so it feels extra special when you stumble upon something fun.
Madrid
A few years ago I took myself for a solo trip to Madrid when I was feeling burnt out. I confess, I picked it based on street art, food and shopping. Worth it!
Oaxaca
Mexico in general was possibly one of the most photogenic countries I’ve ever been to. Oaxaca in particular has a surprise around every corner.
Christchurch
The brightest cities seem to often have the most challenging histories. Christchurch was no exception. It was visibly still getting back on it’s feet over a decade after the devastating earthquake.
Budapest
I’ve had a long love affair with Budapest. It’s beautiful but not pretentious. It’s fun and colourful with loads of history. The perfect place to lose yourself for a weekend.
